Long Distance Overview

Prairie Grove Telephone Company is now a long distance carrier.

We feel that we have put together a long distance service that is competitively priced, and much simpler to understand than our much larger competitors. The following features are included with each PG Telco Long Distance Account:

2 simple rates of 12¢ per min, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to anywhere outside the Fort Smith LATA and within the Continental United States, and 10¢ per minute within the Fort Smith LATA.

Since we converted to equal access in 1993, we have been offering choices in long distance carriers. We have been listening to our customers and making notes of your complaints about your long distance carriers. The following are common customer complaints followed by an explanation of how using Prairie Grove Telephone Company as your long distance carrier can solve the problem.

I can't get in touch with my long distance carrier.
Prairie Grove Telephone Company Long Distance is right here at 139 North Mock Street, Prairie Grove. You can call us or come in to our business office and talk to us face to face.

My long distance carrier sends me a separate bill for my long distance calls.
Prairie Grove Telephone Company will bill your long distance calls on your local service bill that can also include your Internet service.

My long distance carrier charges a minimum service charge even if I have no long distance calls.
Prairie Grove Telephone Company Long Distance will not have a minimum service charge. Our rates are 10 cents per minute for intraLATA calls and 12 cents for an interLATA calls regardless of the time of day. We will pass along a Universal Service Charge that is based on a percentage of your toll.

I agreed to sign up for a new long distance plan but when I received my first bill it was higher than I expected.
Prairie Grove Telephone Company Long Distance has only one rate and you don't have to use 1,000 minutes to get it, as is the case with most larger carriers lower rate plans.

I was switched to a new long distance carrier without my knowledge.
Sign up with Prairie Grove Telephone Long Distance and ask us to put a carrier freeze on your line. We will not change your carrier without your personal notification.
